Day 3

I have a baby praying mantis.   You can learn about praying mantis by going to praying mantis dot com .   And I also found some bird eggs right outside my house.  I have a bird nest right outside my house.  I'm keeping the bird eggs.

I am petting my praying mantis right now and he's not biting me.

  1. Isaiah read this with me, and I know he liked reading it because he had a big smile. :o) I didn't know you could have a praying mantis as a pet. Is he hard to take care of? What does he eat?

    2. Small bugs if he's a small praying mantis. Big bugs if he's big. Not like spiders and things, like grasshoppers and roly polies. Not flying bugs. And crickets, they really like crickets.

It's hard to take care of because you have to keep an eye on it and give it food every single day. Because mine already died. And I was sad.

    I really like your blog!
I had to look up what a praying mantis was. Thank you for adding the link.

    1. It's small and sometimes it's big. I had a baby one so it's really small. And it already died. Because I didn't take care of it much. Once I had a praying mantis in my house and it was big and I took care of it? And I let it go and it found a girl praying mantis on my corn when it was growing outside. And it had babies and we took them somewhere else so they wouldn't get hurt by my dog.

    1. I did and you can check on my blog every couple days because I'm not writing on it every day because I'm going to be really sad because my Guinea pig is going back to school tomorrow.

  4. Cool! I love praying mantises! We had a couple for awhile. What do you feed yours? We had ours during the late summer when there were a lot of flies in Utah, so I would try to hit flies with a fly swatter just enough to stun them instead of kill them. Then, we'd keep them in a jar in the fridge so they would be very slow when we put them in a jar with the mantises. That way, they would be moving (so interesting to the mantis) but not too hard to get in there.

    1. I don't feed them flying things I feed them roly polys and things that crawl. But not spiders. Spiders scare them.

Thank you for reading my blog.
